Who we are
Abonné is an iPhone app for keeping track of your subscriptions, published by Fiston Niyonkuru. In this policy, "Abonné", "we" and "us" mean the app and its publisher. For questions, contact fiston.n@proton.me.
Your subscription information
Abonné stores the subscriptions you enter on your device. This includes service names, prices, currencies, billing dates and cycles, categories, notes, links, icons, and whether a subscription is paused or in a free trial. It also saves your preferences, such as your main currency and reminder time.
- These records are not uploaded to any server we operate, and we have no way to see them.
- Abonné doesn't run a cloud sync service. Like other app data, your iPhone may include them in its iCloud or computer backups, depending on your device settings.
Accounts, advertising and tracking
Abonné doesn't require an account or a bank connection. It contains no advertising, analytics or third-party tracking SDKs, and it doesn't ask for access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone or advertising identifier. We don't sell, rent or share personal information, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Currency conversion
To convert prices into your main currency, Abonné downloads a general table of exchange rates against the US dollar from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com). ExchangeRate-API publishes rates daily, and the app checks for updates up to twice a day, or when you tap Refresh rates in Settings.
Your subscription names, prices, notes and billing schedules are not included in that request. Like any internet request, it gives the provider network information such as your IP address, which it handles under its own terms and privacy policy. Cached and built-in rates let currency estimates work even when a refresh doesn't succeed.
Widgets and notifications
Abonné shares a snapshot of your active subscriptions with its widgets through an Apple App Group on your iPhone; it stays on your device. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets can show subscription names, amounts and billing dates to anyone who can see your screen.
Payment reminders are optional. They're scheduled and delivered by iOS on your iPhone after you grant notification permission — no notification server is involved. You can control notification previews and permissions in the iOS Settings app.
Backups
You can export your subscriptions to a file from Settings and import a backup later. Exported files contain the subscription information described above. Where they're stored and who can see them depends on where you save them, such as in Files or with a cloud storage provider. We never receive these files.
Deleting your data
- Delete any subscription in the app at any time.
- Erase all data in Settings erases all of your saved subscriptions. It doesn't remove your preferences, cached exchange rates or backup files you've already exported.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone, subject to Apple's device and backup behavior.
Because we don't hold your data, we can't access, correct or delete it on your behalf — you control it directly on your device.
External links and support
Opening a service's website or the exchange-rate provider's website takes you outside Abonné, where those services' own privacy policies apply.
If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we use it only to respond to you. Please don't send backup files or sensitive financial information unless your request needs it.
Information from Apple
Apple handles App Store downloads under its own privacy policy. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers on your iPhone, Apple may provide us with crash reports and anonymous usage statistics, which we use only to fix problems and improve the app. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Children
Abonné isn't directed to children under 13, and it doesn't collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app's data practices change. We'll update this page and the date at the top, and mention significant changes in the app's release notes.
